Change a product family after the client approved it

Swap a fabric or add a chair to an approved set with the client's acceptance and a price-difference line, not a silent edit.

Why this matters

After a client approves a set, changing it quietly undoes the record of what they agreed to. Proposing the change keeps the original approval intact, gets a fresh yes on the new version, and carries the price difference through to billing.

The steps

  1. Product familiesReview the family: its parent, sub-products and what the client sees.
  2. Propose a family changePropose the change and send it for your client's approval.
  3. Family revision proposalsFollow the proposal on the approvals side until your client answers.
  4. Approve or request changesYour client accepts the change or asks for something different.
  5. Add project products to an invoiceBill the accepted change on the next invoice.

Good to know

  • You can cancel a proposal before your client answers.
  • If a proposal is closed, your client can ask you for a new one from the portal.
