Split a check from anywhere you record a payment

"This payment covers more than one invoice" now appears in Record payment wherever you open it: an invoice, the project page, the project's invoices or Financials.

  • It is a checkbox now, and ticking it lists the client's open invoices so you can spread the check across them.

See payment proofs at a glance

Proofs attached to a recorded payment show as small previews on the invoice page, in Edit payment and in the Financials payments list.

  • Click a preview to open the full file in a new tab; PDFs and images open in the browser instead of downloading.

Invoiced and paid so far in the client portal

The Invoicing card on the client's portal Overview shows what has been invoiced and what has been paid so far, including part payments.

  • A project with nothing owed leads with what has been paid, and a project with nothing invoiced says so.

Fixes

  • A request where the client asked for changes no longer looks approved on your approval page. The option the client picked is marked with their first name, such as "Jane's pick", and the other options stay at full strength.
  • Adding an option from a product link no longer shows a photo the client will never see. When the vendor's photo can't be saved, the builder says so, keeps the option's current photo and asks you to upload one.
October 10, 2026v0.103.1

Record one check across several invoices

In an invoice's Record payment sheet, choose "This payment covers more than one invoice" to see the client's other open invoices, with amounts filled in oldest-due first.

  • The check is saved once, each invoice it pays shows the check's date, and anything left over stays as client credit.
  • QuickBooks receives it as one payment linked to every invoice, and you can still edit or void the check later.

Proof and history on recorded payments

The payment action is now Edit payment.

  • You can attach proof of payment after the fact, see proofs on the invoice's payment row, and open a History view that lists every change to the amount, method, reference, date, description or invoice.

Choose where each invoice line posts in QuickBooks

Settings > QuickBooks has a Categories card.

  • For each kind of line (design fee, consultation, logged time, purchasing, product charges, expenses and more), pick one of your own QuickBooks products or services.
  • Unmapped kinds keep Moodiri's default items, and the choice applies when an invoice is first sent.
  • If a mapped item has since gone inactive, the push is held with a plain message instead of posting to a different account.

Pause or close a project when you archive it

Archive now asks whether to Pause the project (it goes On Hold and nothing about money changes) or Close it.

  • Close walks through drafts, unpaid and partly paid invoices, unbilled time, active phases, held retainers and client credit, with a per-item choice that defaults to keeping it.
  • If any step fails, the project stays open and you see what succeeded.
  • A closed project no longer accepts new invoices.

A clearer sales-tax panel on projects

The project tax panel is now one table showing what is billed, whether it is taxed and at what rate.

  • Services, logged time and expenses show as not taxed.
  • Edit rate changes the products rate in place, and the reason is now an optional note.
  • Tax reminders offer "Don't show this again", and Settings has "Show sales tax reminders" to turn them back on.

Fixes

Closing the new-project wizard with a stray tap now only shows the discard prompt, and a saved draft is kept until you choose Restore or start fresh.

  • The project photo shows Replace and Remove beside it.
  • A project code can now be changed after invoices exist: existing numbers keep their prefix and new ones use the new code.
  • Compact amounts such as $40K now display the same everywhere.
October 8, 2026v0.103.1

Name your approval options

Each option in the approval builder has a name field.

  • A blank name saves as "Option 1", "Option 2" and so on.
  • When you pick a product category, the save dialog asks whether to save the request as a product or choose Keep as a general request.

Proof for client refunds

Attach a photo of the check, a screenshot of the transfer or a PDF (up to 100 MB) when you record a refund, or later with Attach proof on an active refund.

  • Proofs are private to your firm by default; tick Share with client to show one in the client's portal Documents.
  • Voiding a refund hides its proofs from the client.

Project health opens the project's Financials

The Health panel on a project now links straight to that project's Financials.

  • The project overview no longer repeats a Financials card and a Retainer section. Financial details stay under Financials, and requests and cancellation stay in the project header.

Fixes

Approval due dates no longer show one day early for firms west of UTC.

  • Resend on a "changes requested" request now emails the client directly.
  • Editing a closed request now explains what to do instead of showing a generic error, and Refund items… no longer keeps saying "Choose how the money was refunded." after you pick a method.
  • Browser Back now closes project Notes and returns you to the project, and still asks you to save or discard unsaved edits.
October 7, 2026v0.101.0

Refund paid invoices back to your client

Refund items… on a paid invoice now asks what happens to the money.

  • Keep it as client credit, as before.
  • Or choose Refund to client and record how it was paid back, the date, an optional reference and a note to the client.

Refunds can be recorded as check, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, wire, ACH, cash, card outside Moodiri or other. Client credit rows on Financials also gain Refund to client, so credit from a cancelled order or an overpayment can be paid back later, in full or in part.

A receipt for every refund

Each refund gets its own number and a refund receipt PDF.

  • The receipt is saved to the project's documents.
  • The client sees it in the portal under the original invoice.
  • It is emailed to the client with the PDF attached.
  • The invoice page lists its refunds with Receipt, Send receipt and Void refund.

Voiding a refund puts the amount back into client credit and hides the receipt from the client.

Refunds in your reports and QuickBooks

Refunds show up wherever you track money.

  • They read "Refunded to client" in the Financial Hub and on Financials.
  • In QuickBooks, each refund posts as an expense from the bank account you choose.

Moodiri never moves the money itself.

Fixes

  • Firms on the sales-tax system can now issue invoices with a negative product line, such as a discount, credit or refund.
October 6, 2026v0.99.0

QuickBooks import picks the project for you

In the import review, each invoice now comes with a suggested project and a note saying why.

  • The project you used before for that QuickBooks customer.
  • Otherwise, the project with the same name.
  • Otherwise, the client's only open project.

Suggestions appear as soon as you pick a client, and archived or cancelled projects are no longer offered. You still check each one and accept.

A Card payment method

Record and edit a card payment as Card instead of Other.

  • It shows as Card on invoices, receipts, the client portal and the Financial Hub.
  • It syncs to QuickBooks as a credit-card payment method.

Imported payments keep their method

Payments imported from QuickBooks now keep their method, such as card, check, cash, ACH, wire, PayPal, Venmo or Zelle, instead of all arriving as Other. Click Scan QuickBooks once before accepting payments that were already waiting in the import review.

Fixes

  • The Financial Hub no longer fails to load for firms with a negative invoice line, such as a discount or credit.
  • Untaxed lines are no longer sent to QuickBooks as taxable for companies using Automated Sales Tax.
October 5, 2026v0.96.2

Pages open almost instantly

Rest the pointer on a link and Moodiri fetches the next page, so the click swaps it in without a loading screen. After a short hover, Invoices opens in 75 ms instead of 343 ms.

Lighter photos in the client portal

The portal now loads resized copies of its photos, while full-size views still open the original.

  • Room tiles and product thumbnails.
  • Logos and avatars.
  • Approval photos.

Opening Spaces and each room now loads 0.96 MB instead of 6.1 MB.

October 2, 2026v0.96.1

Bill time on projects with taxable design services

Logged time can now be billed on projects whose sales tax may cover design services, such as in New York and Connecticut. Moodiri shows a "Billed without sales tax" notice and asks you to confirm Bill this time without sales tax before saving.

October 1, 2026v0.96.0

Bill logged time from the invoice builder

Add logged time opens the project's unbilled time as weekly cards.

  • Choose One per entry or Grouped.
  • Each entry becomes an invoice line with hours and an hourly rate you can edit.
  • Time lines read like "2.25 hrs × $200.00/hr" on the invoice, PDF, emails and client portal.

Bill part of the hours

Lower the hours below what was logged and the rest stays unbilled for the next invoice. Voiding or deleting the invoice, or removing its time lines, returns those hours.

Unbilled time when you create an invoice

The Create invoice window now shows the project's unbilled time.

  • Hours, amount and a split by person.
  • A Bill logged time button to add it straight away.

Owners and admins who approve time no longer need to submit their own week before billing it.

September 30, 2026v0.95.0

Collapsed sidebar opens on hover

Rest the mouse on the icon column and the sidebar widens to show every label, drawn over the page so nothing moves. It closes when the mouse leaves or with Escape, and the expand button now sits at the bottom of the sidebar.

Better product photo layouts

Product photos are easier to look at.

  • A single photo is shown whole.
  • Several photos form a tidy staggered grid that never shifts as photos load.
  • Photos load faster and stay sharp.
  • The viewer closes with Escape or a click outside the photo.

QuickBooks changes reach Moodiri on their own

Moodiri now checks connected QuickBooks companies every 15 minutes, so edits made there arrive without a manual re-scan.

  • A payment recorded in QuickBooks is added to the import review.
  • An edit to an invoice Moodiri posted is held for review.

Nothing is accepted automatically.

Fixes

  • Accepting a QuickBooks payment, including one that uses a credit memo, no longer fails with "This record changed in QuickBooks".
  • A customer name already taken in QuickBooks now shows a clear "Customer name is taken in QuickBooks" review item.
September 29, 2026v0.94.8

The logo is redrawn with corrected proportions.

  • It appears on sign-in, sign-up and onboarding.
  • The browser-tab icon is now the oo symbol, following light or dark mode.
  • Adding Moodiri to an iPhone or iPad home screen shows it too.

A smarter QuickBooks import

The QuickBooks import review handles more of your data correctly.

  • It suggests existing clients with the same name, company, phone, address or email domain, and says why each one matches.
  • Payments that apply a QuickBooks credit memo can now be accepted.
  • Names written "Last, First" import correctly.
  • A QuickBooks outage no longer leaves invoices stuck for review, and reconnecting restarts syncs that stopped.

A steadier, more accurate Financial Hub

The Financial Hub is clearer about its figures and gets more of them right.

  • Figures show "Updating. Figures as of 3:42 PM" while they refresh.
  • "Preparing your figures" keeps checking until they are ready.
  • Many figures were corrected; for example, reimbursables passed through at cost no longer count as profit.
  • "AR days" is now "Avg days to pay".
  • The invoice list no longer cuts off its Total and Status columns on phones and tablets.

Faster rooms and files

  • Switching rooms with the thumbnails at the top keeps the strip in place, so only the room below changes.
  • Opening a document on the Files page shows its picture straight away.
September 28, 2026v0.93.9

Log time without a phase

Phase is now optional in Log time and Start timer, with a No phase choice, so projects without phases can take time. A phase added in Time settings now shows up straight away.

Faster Files and My time

  • The Files page loads about 9 times less picture data, with each card showing a copy sized to it.
  • My time opens quicker and no longer flashes a loading placeholder.

Your QuickBooks edits are protected

Moodiri no longer overwrites or voids an invoice someone edited in QuickBooks. It waits for review as "Invoice was changed in QuickBooks", and choosing Update sends Moodiri's version.

September 25, 2026v0.93.1

Invoices with many photos send again

Product photos are shrunk to thumbnail size inside invoice PDFs, so invoices no longer pass the email attachment limit. When an invoice can't be sent, the message now says why and that it is still a draft.

More accurate prices and profit

Prices and profit now come out exactly right.

  • Percentages and tax rates round exactly to the cent, so a $30 item at 7.25% tax is taxed $2.18.
  • A client-approved price stays exactly what the client approved.
  • Markups keep what you entered, such as 33.33%.
  • Profit now counts your trade discount.
  • The Settings fee preview quotes exactly what checkout charges.

Faster photos and pages

  • Product galleries and section pages draw right-sized photos, and opening a photo still shows the full-size original.
  • Time opens faster.
  • Settings no longer waits on Stripe.

Safer QuickBooks payment sync

Moodiri now holds two risky payment changes for review instead of making them.

  • Sending a payment to an invoice that is already paid in QuickBooks.
  • Deleting a payment someone edited in QuickBooks.
September 24, 2026v0.91.3

Confirm changes to draft invoices

A product family change that would alter an unsent draft invoice now opens an "Update draft invoice INV-…?" dialog.

  • It shows the total before and after, and each changed line.
  • Update draft invoice saves both changes together.
  • Cancel leaves both as they were.

Photos appear right away

Photos feel instant across Moodiri.

  • A blurred preview shows the moment a page opens.
  • Resting on a project, room or product card loads its photos ahead of the click.
  • A typical photo now loads in 0.18 s instead of 0.42 s.

The Directory link also goes straight to Clients.

Fixes

  • Deleting a product no longer breaks the photo on copies that share it.
  • A photo whose file is gone leaves its frame empty instead of showing a broken-image icon.
September 23, 2026v0.90.1

Clearer family cost receipts

The family cost receipt's Your cost column is now filled in line by line, so it adds up the same way the client column does.

  • Each charge shows where it is billed.
  • That is either "Included in product price" or on its own invoice line.

Quantities and amounts are checked on save

Values are now checked before they are saved.

  • Quantities must be whole numbers.
  • Money amounts can have at most 2 decimal places.

A value that doesn't fit is refused with a clear message instead of being rounded silently.

Fixes

  • Room and project totals no longer disagree with their products.
  • A family's sections read as plain sections on phones and portrait tablets.
  • Photos are fast on their first view again.
September 22, 2026v0.89.0

Pages with photos load much faster

Photos are now sent at the size they are drawn and kept by the browser between pages, at the same quality as the original.

  • Full-size views, lightboxes and downloads still show the original file.
  • The sign-in photo loads first.
September 20, 2026v0.87.2

Product descriptions fetched from product links now arrive as readable paragraphs and bullet lists instead of raw code, with symbols like ®, ™ and fractions shown properly.

September 18, 2026v0.87.1

Group invoice products by vendor or category

When adding products to an invoice, group, search and select them by vendor or category as well as room. Vendor groups show profile images, and the project selector shows project thumbnails.

September 16, 2026v0.86.0

Sharing and approval are now separate

Sharing a product and approving it are now two different actions.

  • Share with client only controls what the client portal shows.
  • Approve directly changes the status only, and asks whether to also share.
  • The portal lists every shared product, with undecided ones marked "Proposed".

Family receipts and documents

Product families get a clearer page.

  • Costs and pricing read as receipt cards, with a Combined or By product view.
  • Files can be added to a family from its Documents card.
  • The family page carries the next steps, such as approving or adding it to an invoice.

Easier invoices and product photos

Invoices

  • The invoice builder's product picker opens with rooms collapsed and a search box.
  • Invoice products can be sorted by room, vendor, category, name or amount.

Products

  • Drop up to twenty photos at once onto a product.
  • Right-click a product card for Edit, Approve, Send to client and Delete.
September 15, 2026v0.82.0

Project tax rates apply to existing products

Accepting or saving a project sales-tax rate now applies it to the project's existing products in the same step, so they no longer wait for one-by-one review. The setting is now called Apply accepted project tax to products.

Add products to a family in one flow

Review sales tax in the same dialog, then send the change for client review or apply it yourself.

  • Rooms remember their view and filters.
  • An invoice opened from a product returns to that product.

Faster time entry

Logging time takes fewer steps.

  • Create time from Log time, calendar selections and stopped timers in one editable draft.
  • Find projects by name, number, address or client, even with typos.
  • Select time in 15-minute steps.

Fixes

  • Spec-sheet PDFs keep long text in its columns.
  • The spec-sheet picker shows product thumbnails.
  • Billing problems now show a red banner with Retry.
  • Unresolved sales tax shows a Review sales tax button.
September 14, 2026v0.80.0

Project-colored Time cards and planned events

Time cards now carry project colors across the calendar, ledger and approvals.

  • Add planned and recurring events.
  • Jump back to the current week in one click.
  • Add custom client-facing notes when invoicing hours.

Propose family changes to your client

Send family changes for the client to accept while current selections and prices stay active.

  • Review several additions together.
  • Undo simple product moves.
September 13, 2026v0.78.0

Export product spec sheets

Export spec sheets from a project or room with a live PDF preview.

  • Filter by room, vendor and approval state.
  • Choose what to show.
  • Customize the title, introduction and respond-by date.
  • Contractor and vendor exports hide prices by default.
September 11, 2026v0.75.0

Bring retainers into QuickBooks

Review existing fee-free retainers for QuickBooks, reconcile or record their collection, and apply them to invoices without recording cash twice.

Fixes

  • QuickBooks updates and retries now start right away.
  • Imported invoice dates no longer shift between time zones on invoices, client views and PDFs.
September 10, 2026v0.74.0

Download Time reports

Download Time reports as PDF or CSV from the export menu beside the period controls.

Full-page Library products

Open Library products in a full-page view with photos, pricing, notes, documents, and the projects and spaces that use them. The sidebar now also shows colored unread counts beside Messages and Projects.

Time improvements

  • Open teammates' entries in a read-only view while reviewing timesheets.
  • Log durations like .5h and 2h 15m accurately.
  • Studio performance now has its own card.

Messages and settings tidy-ups

  • Messages search and unread filtering sit together.
  • Client groups in Messages start collapsed.
  • Edit the client portal address in a dialog.
  • The global Create button is gone from the header.
September 8, 2026v0.72.5

Documents is now Files

The Documents page is renamed Files, and page selectors share the same height and style across Projects, Time, Directory, Financials, Library, Files and Messages.

Fixes

  • Dragging to select a time range in the calendar no longer crashes the page.
  • Project covers show in the Time ledger and the Log time picker.
  • Sidebar labels close after clicking or pressing Escape.
September 7, 2026v0.72.2

Meet the Financial Hub

The Financial Hub brings your firm's money into one place.

  • Today, Collections, Projects, Firm health, Client funds, Sales tax and Invoices, side by side.
  • Admins can record a sales tax remittance against a return.
  • Each project page shows a Financials card with a link into the hub.

Time tracking for your whole team

Track time across members and projects.

  • Running timers, weekly submission and review, and team reports.
  • Describe your work in plain language and Moodiri proposes the project, phase, task, day and duration.
  • A read-only Google Calendar connection can turn events into suggested entries.

A sidebar that works your way

  • The sidebar collapses to an icon rail and remembers your choice.
  • Pinned and Recent projects give one-click access.
  • Directory is one hub with Clients and Vendors tabs.
  • Settings has an Appearance tab for Light, Dark or System.
September 6, 2026v0.68.0

See each invoice's QuickBooks status

With QuickBooks connected, every invoice shows where it stands.

  • The Details rail shows its accounting status, such as "Synced to QuickBooks" or "QuickBooks: needs review".
  • The invoice timeline shows entries like "Posted to QuickBooks as 1042".

Correct recorded payments and credit

Correct recorded payments and applied client credit from an invoice's Actions, and choose whether a reduction is removed or kept as client credit. Invoice history shows the corrected amounts and where the difference went.

Fixes

  • Client budgets show only shared selections.
  • Multi-option approval emails no longer quote the first choice as a total.
  • Exempt products no longer count toward taxable sales in QuickBooks.
September 5, 2026v0.62.0

Connect QuickBooks Online

Connect your firm's QuickBooks company.

  • Review historical clients, projects, invoices and payments before importing them.
  • Post newly issued invoices to QuickBooks.
  • Post received payments to QuickBooks.

Refund line items on paid invoices

Refund whole line items on a paid invoice as client credit, again and again, whether it was paid by card, cash or credit.

  • Each refund issues a replacement invoice.
  • The client portal shows "Replaced by" on the corrected one.

Product pricing as a receipt

A product's pricing now builds the client price step by step.

  • Your cost sits beside each line.
  • An eye shows whether the client sees it.
  • A parent's receipt covers the whole family.
  • Sub-products can be removed from a family with a clear confirmation.

Fixes

  • Money and percentage fields refuse malformed entries such as "1O0" and restore the saved value.
  • A failed save rolls the field back.
September 3, 2026v0.56.0

Correct an invoice more than once

Teams can now correct the paid replacement from an earlier invoice correction. Each new replacement becomes the current invoice, and earlier ones stay linked as history.

September 1, 2026v0.54.0

Chat like a modern messaging app

Messages work in project and space threads, approvals and the client portal.

Sharing

  • Pasted or dropped photos show as images, and images open in a lightbox.
  • Files arrive as download chips.
  • Links expand into previews.

Conversation

  • Reply with a quote and react with emoji.
  • @ mention teammates and clients.
  • Type / to reference a project, room, product or invoice.

More reliable chat

  • A failed send keeps your message and attachments.
  • A half-written draft survives a look at another conversation.
  • Messages with more than four photos are fully viewable.
  • Mentions now read "Mention" on the Notifications page.

Import past invoices from PDFs

Upload invoice PDFs and bring past invoices into Moodiri.

  • Review the extracted details, then choose the project and client.
  • Work through batches of up to ten.
  • Each imported invoice keeps its PDF.
  • Drafts stay private until you choose a client-visible status.

Name your invoices

Replace the suggested invoice number with a custom name when creating a draft, or rename an existing draft. Names are checked for duplicates across your whole firm.

August 31, 2026v0.50.2

Bill part of a product from the invoice

Each invoice product row has a compact billing percentage, and a product-wide control sets it in bulk.

  • Hidden charges now need an explicit choice about how the client sees them.
  • Saved invoices, the client view and PDFs keep grouped charge sections and section totals through a partial-billing sequence.

A cleaner invoice builder and PDF

Invoice create and edit use a single-column charge layout with larger product thumbnails and receipt totals aligned to the Unit price, Tax and Total columns.

  • PDFs are borderless, keep charges and section headings together across pages, and only split content that is taller than a full page.

Tasks for every eligible firm

Tasks is now open to every firm on an eligible subscription.

  • Board cards show up to three subtasks before expanding, the selected task stands out more with unrelated cards dimmed, and the detail panel is denser and easier to scan.

Consistent revenue and retainer figures

The dashboard, Financials, client pages and the daily briefing now share one definition of money received for corrected invoices.

  • The dashboard's retainer "applied" figure drops when retainer credit is given back, matching the retainer ledger.

Fixes

Reopening an invoice after its payment is removed restores the right draft, sent, viewed or overdue state.

  • Zero-dollar invoice rows now show an error and focus the field that fixes them.
  • A failed invoice correction now says nothing was changed and to contact support.
August 30, 2026v0.48.0

Correct a paid invoice without moving money

Refunding items on a paid invoice marks the original as corrected (kept read-only), issues a replacement for the items the client keeps, and turns the refunded amount into client credit for future invoices.

  • Nothing is refunded through Stripe.
  • A two-step dialog previews the corrected amounts and the credit, and credit becomes spendable once the replacement is settled.

Reverse part of a payment

Recorded payments now appear on the invoice they paid, and you can reverse a specific amount instead of the whole payment.

  • The invoice reopens if a balance remains.
  • New reasons cover a bounced or returned payment and one recorded for too much, and every reversal is kept as a permanent record with who did it and what the receipt was worth before.

One Messages workspace

Client conversations bring project, space, product and approval threads into one place, and a Team tab holds the organization channel, project channels and direct messages.

  • Larger screens show a conversation list beside the thread, and mobile uses one pane at a time.
  • Group chats show a stack of participants and older internal history loads on scroll.

Fixes

Corrected invoices are no longer counted next to their replacements in project and financial summaries, and a replacement invoice can't be sent before it is settled from its credit.

  • Start a message keeps its search pinned while long lists scroll.
  • Message timestamps and delivery state are easier to read in light and dark themes, and team avatars on Tasks show correctly.
August 29, 2026v0.40.0

Plan project work in Tasks

A new Tasks workspace has List and Board views with grouping by status or assignee, priority ordering, filters and one task composer.

  • Tasks carry an owner, deadline, notes, priority, blockers, dependencies and one level of subtasks.
  • Drag cards between lanes or use Move and Assign, and see activity history on each task.

Payment receipts with the confirmation email

Client payment-confirmation emails now attach a PDF receipt with product photos, charges, taxes, discounts, payment history and the remaining balance.

  • Invoice and receipt PDFs now show just your logo in the header.

Images added to Notes start at a consistent width and sit directly on the note without a gray card.

  • Website previews use a compact layout with a thumbnail, a two-line title and the source, and product links use the product's own title, description and image.

A reminder for unfinished onboarding

Firm owners who leave onboarding before Checkout can get one email that returns them to their saved setup progress.

Fixes

Dashboard notifications load the newest unread items after sign-in and recover from temporary failures.

  • Activity avatars appear on the first page view.
August 28, 2026v0.31.0

Notes work like a file collection

Create multiple titled notes per project, read them in a calm view, and switch to editing for headings, lists, checklists, links and images.

  • Notes can be private to you or shared with the team, with up to five team avatars shown.

Version history and Trash for Notes

Every save creates a version labeled with who made it, shows what was added or removed, and lets you restore an earlier version.

  • Deleted notes go to a project Trash for 30 days and can be restored or permanently deleted sooner.

Links can stay as plain hyperlinks or show a website preview with a thumbnail.

  • External links open safely in a new tab.

Fixes

A late response can no longer overwrite what you just saved, and saves, deletes and restores won't overwrite a newer change made in another browser.

  • Notes controls have readable contrast and phone-friendly touch targets.
August 27, 2026v0.29.1

See every cost behind a product's margin

Each product lists every recorded cost in estimated gross profit, including vendor shipping, vendor tax and custom charges, and whether the client price includes it, bills it separately or still needs review.

  • This does not change the client price.

Fixes

Product and rolled-up margins use one cost rule, so shipping and tax costs are no longer subtracted twice.

  • Partial invoices keep exact product and fee amounts across the invoice, client preview and PDF.
August 26, 2026v0.29.0

Apply client credit while creating an invoice

The invoice builder applies available client credit in the same step, including marking the invoice paid when credit covers the total.

  • If the credit can no longer cover it, no invoice is created, and a repeated submission never creates a second invoice or draws credit twice.

A full-screen Notes editor

Project admins can add and edit Notes with links, headings, bullet and numbered lists and checklists in a full-screen writing workspace.

  • Save failures now stay open with a message.
  • The Wishlist section has been removed from project details.
August 25, 2026v0.27.0

Add products straight to an invoice

Add a product to a new invoice or an existing draft.

  • Fully invoiced products move to the end and are disabled, and partially invoiced products show their progress and continue with the right remaining percentage or quantity.
  • Each product has a clear card with aligned description, quantity, unit price, sales tax and total, and partial billing carries through to client views and PDFs.

Draft invoice previews

Draft invoices offer both a watermarked draft download and a clean final preview with no issue date until the invoice is sent.

Review before changing a product family

Attaching, reparenting or duplicating a product in a family now shows a review-and-confirm step, and stale confirmations are rejected.

  • The invoice picker shows the exact amount each Add will place on the invoice, and a family page shows where it is used.

Fixes

The client portal and checkout show mixed-rate tax and its amount, and portal budgets keep correct committed and remaining totals.

  • Invoices reject fully billed products before saving, and previews now match the saved invoice's tax and totals.
  • Accepting a project sales-tax suggestion from an invoice keeps you on the invoice page.
August 23, 2026v0.23.6

Review the cost before adding a seat

Adding a seat opens a payment review with the amount due today, the saved payment method, the new recurring total and seat counters.

  • A seat count chosen in Team settings now carries over to Billing.

Fixes

Payment dialog buttons stay at least 44px tall on every screen size.

August 21, 2026v0.23.4

Exact seat pricing and receipts

Firm owners see the exact amount due today, the proration period and the renewal total before changing paid seats; if the renewal quote can't be loaded, confirmation is blocked with a retry.

  • Each paid seat change sends an itemized receipt with links to the Stripe invoice and PDF, and a declined payment sends a payment-needed notice and the receipt once it clears.
August 20, 2026v0.23.1

Know what a seat costs before you add it

The seat dialog leads with the exact amount due today, names the payment method, explains the proration window with real dates and states the next renewal.

  • The word "Estimated" is gone: if the price moved, the purchase is refused rather than charging a different amount.
  • Billing dates now show the correct calendar day west of UTC.

Seat receipts and renewal notices

Every seat purchase emails a receipt with the invoice PDF attached, and a declined card or bank verification now sends a payment-needed email instead of failing silently.

  • An advance renewal notice goes out before renewal, and receipts are also saved on the billing page.

Product families and reusable configurations

Each parent product gets its own page with large media, combined and by-product costs, linked documents and invoices, and a right rail for name, quantity, status, vendors and chat.

  • Save a family as a named, versioned Library template and drop it into any project in one action; the Library gains All, Families and Supplemental views.
August 19, 2026v0.23.0

Sub-products on invoices and the client portal

A product can now carry sub-products.

  • A hidden sub-product folds its price into the parent, so your client sees one price for the finished item.
  • A visible one appears indented under its parent and is labeled as part of it, on the portal, the pay page, the PDF and emailed invoices.
  • A sub-product's price is locked once it has been billed.

See your estimated profit

Product cost cards, the space rail and the project health card now show Est. gross profit: planned client totals minus the costs you have recorded.

  • A Costs tracked on N of M elements note shows when the estimate is only partly recorded.
  • These figures are for you only and never appear to clients.

Fixes

Asking for an address-based sales-tax suggestion no longer gets stuck on "already in progress" after a failed lookup, so you can retry right away.

  • The project sales-tax card also refreshes itself after a rejected request, so the next click uses the current details.
August 13, 2026

Clients can pay connected-account invoices again

Paying by card (including American Express) or US bank account works again for invoices paid to a connected Stripe account.

  • The separate Apple Pay button is also hidden on those invoices until that account's Apple Pay setup is complete, so clients are not offered a method that would fail.
August 10, 2026

Teams with multiple seats

Firms can add seats, invite teammates, set roles and permissions, edit members and hand over client and project responsibilities, all from Settings.

  • Billing supports monthly and annual plans, with a proration preview, saved payment details and downloadable billing history.

A guided setup for new firms

The owner setup flow now saves as you go, picks up where you left off after a refresh or sign-in, explains payment options and invoicing fees, and ends by creating your first project.

Choose who clients see

Set which teammate clients see as their contact and project manager, as a firm default or per project, including who is copied on invoices.

  • Notifications now go to each teammate individually and respect their project and invoice permissions.

A bad payment setup fails the send, not your client

Before an invoice or reminder goes out, Moodiri checks that your connected Stripe account can still take a card payment.

  • If it cannot, the send stops with a message to check Settings > Payments, and nothing is emailed.
  • A Stripe outage never blocks you from sending.
  • Reminders for firms that disconnected Stripe no longer show a "View and pay" button.

Partial invoices add up to the cent

Billing a product in percentage steps can no longer gain or lose a cent.

  • For example, 75% then 25% of $214.98 bills exactly $161.24 and $53.74.
  • Stuck partial drafts send again, and the invoice builder shows the real dollars for each follow-up step.

Emailed sign-in links for sign-up and password reset no longer fail with "Couldn't finish signing in." You now land on a short Confirm your sign-in page and finish with one click.

  • After signing in you are also sent to the right address instead of a dead page.

New firms set a password at sign-up

The "Create your password" step is no longer skipped for the first person to sign up, so you can log in with email and password later.

Fixes

Changing your client portal address during onboarding now saves reliably.

  • The address field accepts multi-word names ("maya chen" becomes maya-chen) and shows what actually went wrong, and Moodiri's own brand and help names are reserved so no firm can imitate them.
  • Subscription checkout now offers card, with Apple Pay and Google Pay through card.
August 8, 2026

Partial invoices read the same everywhere

Invoice detail, the designer preview, the client pay page, the portal and the PDF now show the same current amount, previously billed amount and remaining amount.

  • A second step from 25% to 60% reads clearly, for example Billing to 60% (+35%).
  • The portal also shows the processing-fee notice on unpaid invoices.

Fixes

Recording partial cash on a draft invoice and then editing it to match now marks the invoice paid instead of leaving it stuck as a draft.

August 6, 2026

See when a bank payment is on its way

While a bank debit (ACH) settles over 3-5 business days, the invoice now shows Payment processing on lists, invoice pages, projects, search and the client portal, with a matching filter.

  • You get an email and a notification when the client starts paying, and another if the debit fails.
  • Overdue reminders and nudges skip these invoices.

Preview draft invoices as PDFs

On a draft invoice you can preview or download a watermarked draft PDF, or the final PDF exactly as your client will receive it.

August 5, 2026

Readable email buttons

Brand-colored buttons in approval, invite, invoice and digest emails now pick a label color you can read, even with a pale brand color.

August 4, 2026

A smoother client portal

The sidebar and header stay in place as clients move between Approvals, Spaces, Selections and other tabs.

  • The portal keeps its own light or dark mode instead of following yours.
  • Opening the chat from the header goes to the thread with the most unread messages, approvals included.

Clients can ask to reopen an approval

A client can ask to reopen a closed approval with a note, and you see their request on the approvals page.

  • Clients also get an email reminder when an approval due date is within seven days.

Better approval review

Option cards select and deselect with a click, and the layout sits side by side on wide screens with a pinned decision bar on mobile.

  • Change requests read as normal messages with a small status tag.

Fixes

Shipping charges now save the first time and the Client cost card updates right after you save.

  • An unrelated edit can no longer overwrite a saved shipping cost.
  • A charge typed as "1,500" now saves as $1,500 instead of $1.
August 1, 2026

A payment page that adds up

Each item shows one all-in amount, the amounts sum to the invoice total, and the total ends on what is being charged.

  • Freight, receiving and sales tax appear as indented rows.
  • Quantity and price read as 2 × $1,534.00, and all items are visible without scrolling inside a box.

Clearer partial billing

A partially billed product shows its step (for example Billing 35%) with a progress bar for what earlier invoices settled, what is owed, this invoice and what is still to come.

One consistent payment-method row

Clients choose Card, Apple Pay or US bank account from one row of equal-sized options, with exactly one Apple Pay option.

  • Apple Pay now also appears in eligible Chrome browsers.

Fixes

Receipts no longer say "Total paid" while a bank debit is still clearing, and now include both manual and online payments.

  • A voided invoice no longer states an amount due, and a never-sent draft is no longer shown to a client as money owed.
July 31, 2026

Apple Pay shows up in Chrome

Clients can now see and open Apple Pay on the invoice payment form in eligible Chrome browsers.

  • Card and bank-account payment stay right where they were.
July 30, 2026

Pay invoices with Apple Pay in Chrome

Chrome now offers the same Apple Pay option Safari already had, in the same invoice payment form.

  • If a wallet payment is cancelled or declined, the client lands back on the normal card form and can try again.

Clearer portal sign-in

Both sign-in methods now show the same Email field, and the code screen tells clients which address the code went to.

  • Settings names the email a portal password belongs to, and Apple private relay addresses get a hint to enter the address exactly as shown.

Portal sign-in looks familiar again

Portal addresses show your firm's mark above its name, with the Google and Apple buttons, password sign-in as the default, and an email code as a backup.

  • Portal links copy as a full, ready-to-share address, and new firms start with the owner's name as their address.

Add a password alongside Apple sign-in

Portal clients who signed in with Apple can now add or reset a password and keep using Apple too.

Fixes

Invoice sending only says "sent" or "queued" when Moodiri has confirmed it.

  • If the connection drops mid-send, you're asked to check the invoice before trying again, so you don't send it twice.
July 29, 2026

A permanent portal address for every firm

Each firm now has its own portal.moodiri.com/your-name address, set up during onboarding and managed by the owner.

  • If you change it, the old address keeps working, and your clients' existing project links, invitations and sign-ins carry on.

Passwordless client sign-in

Clients can sign in with a ten-minute code or a one-click link sent to their email, alongside password, Google and Apple.

  • Portal access is now an explicit grant: it switches on when a portal message is delivered, and removing it signs the client out everywhere.
  • Links in invitations, approvals, invoices, receipts and digests all use the new address.

Passwords for designers and clients

Add, change or reset a password from Settings without unlinking Google sign-in.

  • Portal clients can create a password from their invitation, sign in with email and password, and manage it from portal Settings, with larger touch targets on mobile.
July 28, 2026

Sign in with Apple for the client portal

Clients can now set up and sign in to their portal with an Apple Account, next to the existing password and Google options.

  • Apple's Hide My Email works too, and removing a client's portal access also removes their Apple sign-in.
July 26, 2026

Control your usage analytics

Settings now has a Privacy & Analytics section where each person can turn product analytics and session recording off, or back on, at any time.

  • Recording is limited to onboarding; the client portal and payment pages are never recorded.
July 22, 2026

Cash with no invoice becomes client credit

Recording a manual payment without picking an invoice now creates credit for that client, so the money stays in your invoice and credit records.

  • Unapplied credit isn't counted as revenue until it pays an invoice.

Mark a draft invoice as paid

Record a manual payment right from a draft invoice.

  • Full payment marks it paid, and you can choose whether to email the client a paid copy.
  • The general payment picker only lists sent, viewed or overdue invoices, and drafts with payments can't be deleted or voided until you reverse them.

Add a client to a project later

Projects created without a client now have a clear Add client button.

  • The first client you add becomes the primary contact for approvals and invoices.
July 20, 2026

Preview and download draft invoices

Draft invoices can be previewed or downloaded as a PDF with a DRAFT watermark.

  • Sent, reminder and paid-copy emails use the exact same PDF, so the client sees what you approved.
  • Product photos and descriptions stay as they were when the invoice was issued.

Sent invoices have buttons to copy or open the exact link your client uses.

  • Opening it as a signed-in teammate doesn't mark the invoice as viewed by the client.

Choose who gets a copy of invoice emails

In notification settings, pick None, CC or BCC for invoice emails.

  • It saves with the usual Save changes button.

Clearer payment pages and receipts

Payment pages show larger product thumbnails, full descriptions, and a clear layout for charges and subtotals.

  • Every online payment keeps its own receipt of the invoice amount, client charge, card or bank fee, so paid pages and PDFs stay accurate after later credits or refunds.

Fixes

Invoices with totals such as $9,386.37 could fail to send with a false "edited by someone else" error and lose their payment link.

  • They now send correctly, and if two people really do collide, the message simply asks you to refresh.
July 18, 2026

A faster dashboard

Chat, the notes editor and the financials chart now load only when you open them, and Financials no longer fetches every reporting period up front.

Invoice search covers everything

Search, status, project and sorting on Invoices now work across all your invoices, not just the ones already loaded on screen.

Lighter client portal

Each portal page loads only what it shows, long lists are paged, and navigating shows a real loading state instead of a blank page.

  • Client invoice PDF downloads no longer expose the payment link.

One-time portal invitations

Portal invitation links are single use: the first password or Google setup wins and cancels any other open links.

  • A client is marked invited only after the email goes out.
  • Removing portal access signs the client out on every device, and clients were signed out once as part of this update.

Fixes

Archived projects can no longer be cleaned up if they have invoices, payments or retainers.

  • Signing out is more reliable.
  • Payments and refunds that happen at the same time now settle consistently.
July 3, 2026

Payment emails read as receipts

The client confirmation and your "payment received" alert now say "Payment received on [date]" and make clear it's a receipt, not a new charge.

  • Emails delayed by a delivery problem carry a notice, and ones that are weeks old are dropped instead of arriving late.

Branded emails

All transactional emails now share the Moodiri look.

  • Product thumbnails in digest emails show up again, and the postal address is gone from email footers.

Invoice sends survive email hiccups

Sending an invoice now retries automatically after a brief email problem, instead of showing a hard error.

July 1, 2026

Invoices add up to the penny

A product priced at $217.75 could bill as $217.80, and a half-cent could round the wrong way.

  • Invoice lines, tax and totals now always reconcile exactly, and a unit price that wouldn't match the line total is hidden so clients never see "10 x $21.78" next to $217.75.

Fixes

Financials no longer shows a false underbilled gap on fully billed products.

June 30, 2026

A redesigned payment page

The pay screen is now one branded card: a dark hero with the merchant, a large live Total Due and reference code on one side, and the payment form on the other.

  • Card, US bank account and Apple Pay are large selectable tiles, and the total doesn't jump when switching.
  • A note says when there's no processing fee for bank payments.

Fixes

Quickly switching between card and bank could price a payment for the wrong method; that's fixed.

  • After 3-D Secure or a bank redirect, the success screen shows the real amount charged.
  • A failed method update now offers Try again.
June 29, 2026

Review designs one at a time

Clients can step through pending approvals one by one in the portal, grouped by space, with an undo.

See when a client read your message

Designer chats show a grey "Seen" time under the latest message the client has read.

  • Clients never see your read state.

Get an email when a payout lands

When Stripe deposits a payout into your bank account, Moodiri emails you the amount and expected arrival date.

Fixes

Apple Pay works on the invoice payment page and when paying several invoices together, with the same fee as a card.

  • Comments on projects, spaces, products and approvals now reliably notify the other side.
  • The black corner on selected product cards is gone.
June 26, 2026

Bill part of a product now, the rest later

Bill a product at a percentage, for example 75% on order and 25% on delivery.

  • The final bill is exactly the remainder, so the pieces always add up, and over-billing past 100% is blocked.
  • Invoices and the client portal show the full item total, the percentage billed, and what was previously invoiced and remains.

Fixes

Product and library cards no longer flicker on busy grids such as a vendor's linked products.

June 25, 2026

Pay several invoices in one payment

Create one shared pay link for outstanding invoices on the same project and client, and clients can pay them together with a single card or bank payment.

  • Nothing needs to be voided or reissued, and each invoice is settled for its own amount.

Trade discounts on vendors

Set a vendor's trade discount percentage and products you add or import from that vendor pick it up, as long as they haven't been ordered.

  • Re-apply a changed rate to existing products in one click, and see total trade savings on Financials.

Photos and product groups in invoice PDFs

Invoice PDFs show each product's photo with its fees grouped underneath and a subtotal, and a product never splits across pages.

  • Photos from vendor sites that block downloads now appear too.

Pasting a link from a site that blocks imports used to save a product with no price or image.

  • You now get a clear message, a Capture with extension button, and manual entry pre-filled from the link.

A warning before re-billing a product

Adding a product that's already on another invoice asks you to confirm, with a checkbox for each charge you want to bill again.

Fixes

New invoices no longer start with a stray $0 design fee line.

  • You can type decimals like 12.5 in markup and tax fields.
  • Your header avatar updates as soon as you change your profile photo.
  • Headers now have a soft frosted-glass look.
June 24, 2026

Build a product's price step by step

Products now build the client price through cost, trade discount, vendor tax, markup, sales tax and extra charges.

  • Bundle charges into named groups, or fold one into the base price.
  • Clients see each group as one clear line, and charges already billed are locked from changes.

Add an existing product to a draft invoice

Pick a product you already have and add it to a draft invoice, with its charges and thumbnail.

Fixes

Section approvals now appear in their own space's Approvals card, and approval options show the product's current photo instead of a blank box.

June 23, 2026

Back goes where you came from

The back arrow, the "Back to [Space]" button and the breadcrumbs now return you to the space you opened an approval or product section from.

  • After Send for approval you land back in that space.
  • In the client portal, the browser Back button closes an open approval, invoice, document or selection.

Fixes

Project pages that showed an error on open now load correctly, including the right-hand rail.

June 18, 2026

Approval emails don't go missing

When a client approves or asks for changes, the email to you is now saved and retried until it's delivered.

  • Payment received and send-for-approval emails get the same protection.

Fixes

Editing a product after adding it from a link, such as changing the quantity, no longer fails with a technical error.

  • Save errors now say plainly what to fix.
June 16, 2026

Final selections in the client portal

Approved or shared products appear automatically as confirmed selections.

  • Each space shows Needs your review and Final selection, and the Selections tab rolls them up for the project.
  • Reopening a decision or deleting a product removes it again.

Fixes

Sharing a product with a client or approving it for them no longer resets its price to $0.

June 13, 2026

Smoother product capture from the browser extension

The extension saves the main photo by default and offers the other photos it finds as optional thumbnails.

  • If the main photo will not load, it uses one that does instead of saving a broken image, and the same photo in several sizes is no longer listed over and over.
  • The panel now stays open while you click around the page and scrolls instead of clipping on short screens.

Library captures keep their specs

Products you save to Library from the extension now keep the spec details it found (material, weight, SKU, UPC, warranty) and the link to the spec-sheet PDF, just like products saved to a project.

Unread message badges in the client portal

Clients now see unread counts on rooms, products and approvals, plus a total next to Chat.

  • The counts stay in sync across devices and clear when the conversation is opened.
June 11, 2026

Capture shipping dimensions too

The extension now reads both a product's own dimensions and its packed carton size, converting between inches, centimeters and feet.

  • Partial sizes (for example width and depth with no height) are kept instead of dropped, and the product page shows a Shipping dimensions row when there is one.

Extension usage at a glance

Track how many extension captures you have used.

  • Settings > Extension has a new "Usage this month" card with captures used and the reset date.

Vendors fill themselves in

When you capture a product, Moodiri can now fill in the vendor's details and use its brand logo as the vendor photo.

  • It is on by default and can be turned off with Auto-enrich vendors in Settings > Extension.

Clearer decisions for clients and designers

After a client decides on a section approval, the portal offers a Next decision button, and a Change my decision link where a change is still possible.

  • On your side, the per-option button now reads Select as final, and deciding for the client is called Record client's decision with a confirmation step first.
  • Removing an option offers an Undo, and restoring it brings back your notes, pros, cons and its original position.
June 10, 2026

Approving the same product twice adds to its quantity

If you approve the same product again (say a floor lamp for the living room, then for the office), its quantity is added to the existing final selection instead of creating a second card.

  • The client portal, Final selection and procurement reports all show one card with the combined quantity.

Choose what clients see

You can now share products that are not part of an approval, and whole sections, with the client portal.

  • Filter a space's products by visibility, and hover an item to see whether the client or a designer picked it.

Compare options and talk them through

Section options now carry pros and cons for easy comparison, and designers and clients can exchange messages right on a section approval.

  • The actions panel gains send and resend, and the status panel shows dates.

Fixes

A client's decision can no longer be overwritten by a designer override that lands at the same moment.

  • Delete both now archives the approval and removes the product together, so a failure cannot leave a half-deleted pair.
  • A scraped vendor name like "West" no longer silently links to an unrelated vendor such as "Westlake".
  • The Client approved badge no longer appears when a designer decided for the client.
  • Rounded corners now use smoother, iOS-style curves in browsers that support them.
June 9, 2026

Product sections and approvals inside spaces

Organize a space's products into sections, present options for each, and send them to the client for approval.

  • You can start from reusable section templates, or decide on the client's behalf when needed.
  • Products you add directly stay hidden from the client as drafts until they are finalized or approved.

Chat with your designer at every level

The client portal now has chat on rooms, products and approvals, not just the project.

  • It uses a side panel on desktop and a Channels drawer on phones, and it is the same conversation the designer sees.
  • Clients only see chats for items they can see, and approval replies show in both the chat and the approval.

Your Library fills itself

Products already in your current and past projects now appear in Library automatically, instead of the page starting out empty.

Better vendor pages

Vendor pages show products as library-style cards with the projects they appear in.

  • On big projects, the spaces preview now shows a limited number of rooms so the overview stays easy to scan.

Fixes

Raising a product's quantity now updates its totals.

  • A client can no longer respond to an approval you archived.
  • Reopening an approved decision puts the section back into a reviewable state.
  • PDF previews are sharper.
June 8, 2026

Product Library

The new Library is a catalog of every product you use.

  • The same piece used in three projects shows up once, with how many times it is used and where.
  • Filter by category, vendor, project, source or price, sort by most used, price or recent, mark favorites, group items into collections, and add an item to a new project in one click.

A faster way to add rooms

The Add space window now shows 17 room types plus Custom on one screen.

  • For custom rooms you can upload your own icon and save the room type to reuse later, and a second optional step takes measurements such as floor area, ceiling height and wall area.

Gentle duplicate checks for rooms

Adding a second Kitchen, Garage, Pool or similar room shows a warning, but still lets you continue.

  • Giving two rooms in a project the same name is blocked, with a one-click suggestion like "Kitchen 2".
  • The old Other room type is now Custom.

Fixes

The prompt to add product sections after creating a space no longer flashes closed.

  • An expired sign-in now says so, with a Sign in link, instead of a bare "Unauthorized".
  • Section cards show a cover from the first option, then the recommended pick, and the assigned product once approved.
June 7, 2026

A cleaner approval builder

Due date, space and category now sit as pills at the top of the approval form.

  • When you save or send, Moodiri works out whether the approval is for a product and only asks if it is unclear.
  • Option cards are lighter, and three options fit on a laptop screen without scrolling.

Fixes

Cards in light mode regained their crisp white edge after a styling slip.

June 4, 2026

Your business name on card statements

When a client pays an invoice by card, their statement now shows your business name instead of Moodiri's, which helps cut down on "I don't recognize this charge" disputes.

  • When the client covers the card fee, that fee now correctly offsets the charge instead of being added to your payout.

Absorbed payment fees come out of your payout

If you absorb processing fees (the default), they are now taken from your payout as your setting promises.

  • The client still pays face value, and invoices where the client covers the fee are unchanged.
  • Retainer deposits follow the same rule.

Put retainers to work against invoices

On a draft invoice, Apply retainer puts some or all of a client's available retainer against it.

  • A fully covered invoice is marked paid on its own, and a partly covered one bills only the remainder, with the retainer credit itemized on the payment page.
  • Balances, the client portal and Financials all reflect it.

Refund a retainer

Admins can refund an active retainer to the client's original card, with an amount, a reason and a two-step confirmation.

  • Financials gets a Retainers section that shows held money separately from invoiced revenue, and cancelling a project prompts you to refund any held retainer.
  • Nothing is ever refunded automatically.

Start a space from a template

After creating a space, you can pick a template of product sections to start from, or skip it.

June 2, 2026

Request retainers up front

Request a retainer from a project as a dollar amount or a percentage.

  • Share the payment link, or let the client pay by card through Stripe.
  • The new Retainers page lists them with a full history, and the client portal home shows a "Your retainer with your studio" card with Paid, Applied and Remaining.

Start a project before you have a client

The new-project wizard lets you skip the client step and add one later, and a client no longer needs an email to be saved.

  • Sending an invoice or approval, requesting a retainer or inviting someone to the portal asks for a client with an email first.

A reference code on every invoice

Every invoice now has a short reference such as MDR-7F3K-2Q9X, easy to read out over the phone.

  • It appears on the invoice, the payment page and both PDFs, and you can paste it into search to jump straight to the invoice.

Filter approvals by stage and products by procurement

Approval lists now filter by All, Empty, Draft, Sent, In review and Approved, with live counts.

  • The products list filters by procurement status instead: Not Ordered, Quoted, Ordered, Shipped, Delivered and Installed.

A full product page

Open a product full-screen to see the vendor and rep, dimensions, a line-by-line pricing breakdown from your cost to the client total, shipping and delivery details, attached quotes and the other rooms where the item is used.

Fixes

A sign-in session that points to an account that no longer exists now sends you to the login screen instead of an error on every page.

May 31, 2026

A sharper sidebar with live counts

Clearer icons, darker labels and a visible highlight on the page you are on.

  • Projects, Clients, Invoices and Vendors show their counts, and Invoices shows its overdue count in blue when there is something to chase.

Colorful overview tiles

The home Overview is now four tiles: Active projects (with pending approvals), Past due, Total balance and Future payouts, with trend lines on the money tiles.

  • Financials gets status-colored icons too, and shows a green check when nothing is outstanding or overdue.

Add products from one chooser, with approvals everywhere

Adding a product starts from a single chooser with four clear paths.

  • Approvals use the same card on every screen and open in a quick-view window, and an approved item links back to the decision that placed it.
  • Products without a section appear in an Ungrouped group so nothing goes missing.

Edit sent approvals with the full builder

Draft and sent approvals now open in the same builder you used to create them, so you can change options, photos, pros, cons and prices.

  • An option priced at $0 keeps its price when you save.

Focused product details

Clicking a product opens a fixed-size, two-pane view with the photo, unit cost, markup, client price, vendor and a conversation.

  • Product cards in a space are clickable with a clearer hover, and chat has a cleaner bubble look with a frosted header.

Calmer invoice screens

Invoice actions are combined into one panel, Send invoice is a solid green button, and your logo now appears on invoice PDFs.

  • On the Invoices and Clients lists you can click anywhere on a row to open it.

Fixes

Colorful logos are no longer inverted in dark mode, only plain black, white or gray ones.

  • Space cards keep the same height whether or not they have products.
  • PDF previews in Documents are sharp instead of pixelated.
  • The space switcher updates the page header when you change spaces.
  • The approval card stays in view while a long conversation scrolls.
May 30, 2026

See how each room is progressing

Space cards now show a colored breakdown of Not started, Draft, In review and Approved items, with a larger thumbnail.

  • Items that are ordered, in production or delivered count toward Approved.

A floating chat

Chat is now available from a floating panel and a full chat page, with separate threads for the project, each space, product and approval.

Fixes

Payment links no longer show as expired after an invoice send fails and is retried.

  • Invoice email failures are now caught and followed up on.
May 27, 2026

Chat at every level

Besides the project and each space, you can now chat on a product (inside its detail window) and on an approval (in its side panel).

  • Each has its own thread, so a note about one item stays with that item.

A redesigned approval page

The approval detail page now follows the same layout as the approval builder.

Pictures that stay put

Photos from product links are now saved to Moodiri, so they keep working if the vendor's site changes.

  • Space cards on the project overview show real product photos, and project pages stay fast as the number of products grows.

Fixes

PDF thumbnails on document cards are crisper.

  • Project search works better in the invoice and document flows.

  • Removing a client's portal access, or the client signing out, now ends their session right away.
May 15, 2026

Client photos show up for you too

When a client uploads a profile photo in the portal, it now appears on your side as well, in lists, activity and comments.

Fixes

The portal's Recent activity only lists items the client is allowed to see, and now goes back much further.

  • The overdue pay buttons are quieter, and the designer card's Message, Call and Book buttons fit on one row.
May 14, 2026

Offer meeting booking to clients

Add a Calendly, Cal.com or other scheduling link under Booking link in your profile settings, and the Book button on the client portal opens it.

  • Until you add one, the button is grayed out with a short explanation.

Clear avatars for everyone

Clients, vendors, designers and comment authors now get a consistent colored avatar, so the same name has the same color everywhere.

  • Initials use the first letter of the first and last word of a name.

Your logo in the client portal

The portal sidebar now shows your studio logo, so clients see your brand throughout.

Clients can add a profile photo

Clients can upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP photo (up to 5 MB) from the portal Settings page.

The portal's Recent activity card now opens a full page with search, a type filter and sortable columns.

  • Overdue invoice amounts are shown in red, and the invoices table stacks neatly on mobile.
May 6, 2026

Preview draft invoices as PDF

Preview or download a draft invoice before you send it.

  • The PDF is clearly marked as a draft, and its total matches what the client will actually be charged, including any card fee you pass on.

Invoice numbers that follow the project

New invoices are numbered from the project code, such as WEB-INV001, WEB-INV002, picking up after any invoices the project already has.

  • Numbers can no longer collide between projects, deleting a draft never reuses its number, and the number is read-only on the create form.

  • PDF covers with unusual image formats no longer show as blank white thumbnails.
  • Notification photos no longer break after 15 minutes.

Fixes

Payment confirmations, activity entries and notifications show the invoice total, even when the client covered the card fee on top.

April 15, 2026

Branded PDF and Excel exports

Export on a project or space now downloads a real PDF with your logo or a styled Excel file, not a CSV in disguise.

  • Spaces get the same menu, scoped to that space's products.
  • Exports cover up to 500 products.

Project codes

New projects get a code like 26-001, which you can change.

  • Invoice numbers follow the project code, and the code is locked once the project has invoices.

A back arrow that remembers

The back arrow returns you to where you came from, whether that was Invoices, a project, Financials, clients, vendors or documents.

  • Moving between rooms no longer fills your back history.

Choose a plan while setting up

Onboarding now ends with picking a monthly or yearly plan through Stripe Checkout.

Photos for projects and spaces

Add or change a project's photo from its edit window.

  • Closing an edit window with unsaved changes asks before discarding them.

Fixes

Logging out from the plan page no longer shows an extra confirmation.

  • Onboarding shows the Moodiri logo and your avatar correctly.

  • A vendor found on the page can be linked in one click.

Works on every screen size

Every page now adapts from small phones to ultrawide monitors, with no overlapping text or clipped charts.

  • Toolbars, project headers, forms and dashboard graphs adjust to the space.

First and last names, split addresses

Clients are entered with first and last names, and vendor reps too.

  • Client and vendor addresses now have separate street, city, state and zip fields that fill in from Google address suggestions.
  • Existing records were converted automatically.

Big uploads work

Files over 10 MB now upload reliably, up to the 100 MB document limit.

  • Project and space cards show document counts.

Right-click any notification to mark it read or unread, or open it.

Accounts choose a plan on a new subscribe page.

  • Sign-in and sign-up have a new image-led design, cards use soft shadows instead of borders, and the home page shows your 8 most recent projects.

Fixes

Fees and payout on Financials no longer count card fees that your client paid on top of the invoice.

March 21, 2026v0.1.0

Client and vendor detail pages

  • Vendor pages add showroom address, rep contact and trade discount.
  • Importing from the extension now matches existing vendors by name and website instead of duplicating them.

Fixes

Overdue invoices are now judged by their due date.

  • Signing out of the portal ends the session.
  • The Year view on Financials shows all 12 months.
  • Keyboard focus is visible again.
March 18, 2026

The Chrome extension

Capture a product from any website and import it into a project and space in one click, with its name, price, dimensions, images and vendor.

  • Prices keep their original currency.
  • Create an API key under Settings > Extension to connect, and review captured products on the new product import page.

Captures the exact variant you picked

Choose a color or size on a product page and the extension saves that variant's photo, not the default one.

Faster-feeling pages
