Invoicing and payments · Refunds paid back to clients
Void a client refund
Undo a refund recorded by mistake. The amount goes back to the client's credit and the receipt is hidden from them.
Why use it
A refund recorded twice, for the wrong amount, or for a check you never mailed makes the client's credit look used up when it isn't. Voiding the refund restores the credit and keeps a record of what happened, instead of deleting it.
When to use it
- The refund was recorded in error, for example twice or for the wrong client credit.
- The refund wasn't sent after all, such as a check you didn't mail.
- The details were wrong. Void it, then record it again correctly.
Before you start
- Only the owner and admins can void refunds.
- Open the invoice from Invoices, or open Financials and choose View refunds on the credit.
Steps
- Find the refund: on the invoice under Refunded to client, or on Financials with View refunds on the credit.
- Choose Void refund….
- Pick a Reason, such as Recorded in error, Refund wasn't sent or Other. Add a note if it helps.
- Choose Void refund to confirm.
What happens next
- Moodiri confirms with Refund voided. The money is available as client credit.
- The refund stays in the history, marked Voided.
- The refund receipt is hidden from your client. No email is sent.
Limits
Limits
- Voiding returns the amount to client credit, hides the receipt from the client and sends no email.
- The note can be up to 2,000 characters.
- Moodiri doesn't move money when you void a refund.
