Pay an invoice

Pay your designer's invoice online by card, US bank account or Apple Pay, on a secure page that shows exactly what you're paying for.

Why use it

Paying online settles the invoice without posting a check, and your designer is notified. You don't have to read out card numbers on the phone, and you get a receipt for your records.

When to use it

  • An invoice arrives. Pay from the email link when it lands.
  • A payment is due or overdue. The portal's Overview has a button for it.
  • You prefer to pay by bank. Choose US bank account when the invoice offers it.

To pay by check or another offline method, arrange it with your designer. They record it in the portal for you.

Before you start

  • The invoice email from your designer, or access to your portal's Invoices page.
  • A card, a US bank account, or Apple Pay on a supported device.

Steps

  1. Open the payment page: choose View and pay in your designer's invoice email, or open the invoice in the portal and choose Pay with the amount.
  2. Check the items, tax and Total due on the invoice.
  3. Choose how to pay: Card, Apple Pay or US bank account. The options depend on your device and on what the invoice offers.
  4. Enter your card or bank details.
  5. Choose Pay with the amount. With Apple Pay, confirm in the Apple Pay sheet instead.

What happens next

  • Card or Apple Pay: you see Payment received with the amount. Choose Download receipt for a copy, and Back to your portal if you came from there. The invoice shows Paid.
  • US bank account: you see Bank payment in progress. Bank transfers usually take 3 to 5 business days to clear, and you and your designer both get a confirmation email when it settles. Meanwhile the invoice shows Payment processing.
  • Bank verification: if your bank needs checking, you see Verify your bank account. Look for an email with instructions; small deposits usually arrive in 1 to 2 business days.

See Payment states for every message you might see.

Limits

Limits
  • US bank account appears only when the invoice offers it.
  • Processing fees may apply, and the fee is worked out again for each payment method you choose.
  • Apple Pay appears only on devices and browsers that support it.

Troubleshooting

  • The total changed. Review the updated amount, then click Pay again. The amount was updated. Check it and pay again.
  • Payment already in progress. Do not retry. A payment is already going through. Wait for it to finish instead of paying again.
  • This payment link is no longer active. Please contact your designer for an updated invoice. Ask your designer for a new link.
  • Couldn't reach the server. Check your connection, then tap Try again below. Reconnect and choose Try again.

Questions

Is there a fee for paying online?

Sometimes. If a method has a processing fee, the page shows the amount under the payment details before you pay. When a method has no fee, it says No processing fee with this payment method.

I don't see Apple Pay.

Apple Pay appears only on devices and browsers that support it. Use Card or US bank account instead.
