Set a password from an invite
Opened a portal setup link from your designer? Create a password, or use Google or Apple, and go straight into your project.
Why use it
A password lets you get back into your project portal at any time, without waiting for a code by email. If you prefer, connect your Google or Apple account instead and skip the password altogether.
When to use it
- You opened a setup link. Some invitations from your designer open a Set up your portal page. Set your password there once.
- You'd rather not type codes. A password or a linked Google or Apple account gets you in directly.
If your invitation opened a sign-in page instead, follow Sign in to your portal.
Before you start
- The setup link from your designer's email.
- If you choose Google or Apple, use the account that has the email address your designer has for you.
Steps
- Open the setup link from your designer's invitation. The page shows Set up your portal.
- To skip the password, choose Continue with Google, or Continue with Apple if it's offered.
- Or type a Password of at least 8 characters, and type it again under Confirm password.
- Choose Create account & enter portal.
What happens next
- Your project portal opens on the Overview.
- Next time, sign in from your designer's portal link with your email and password, or with the same Google or Apple account.
Limits
Limits
- Passwords need at least 8 characters. Very long passwords (more than 72 bytes) are not accepted.
- You can try to finish setup 5 times per minute.
- A setup link stops working once it has been used or replaced by a newer invite.
Troubleshooting
- Link expired or invalid. Ask your designer to send a new portal invite.
- Invalid or expired invite link. The link was already used or has expired. Ask your designer for a new invite, or sign in with an email code.
- This invite is no longer available. Ask your designer to send a new portal invite. This invitation can no longer be used. A new invite from your designer fixes it.
- Passwords don't match. Type the same password in both boxes.
Questions
My invitation opened a sign-in page instead. Is that wrong?
No. Newer invitations open your designer's sign-in page, where you sign in with an email code, Google or Apple. See Sign in to your portal.
Can I change the password later?
Yes. Open Settings in the portal and use Sign-in and security.
The link says it expired. What do I do?
Ask your designer to send you a new portal invite.
