# Set up your firm before your first client

> Get your name, logo, payouts, pricing defaults and team ready before a client sees an invoice or the portal.

## Why this matters

Your first client sees your studio through Moodiri: the portal, the emails and the invoices. Setting your name, logo, payouts and pricing defaults first means every project after that starts right, and nobody has to fix an invoice that went out with the wrong markup or no way to pay.

## The steps

1. [Create your account](https://docs.moodiri.com/getting-started/create-your-account): Create the account you will own the firm with, using Google or your email.
2. [Onboarding walkthrough](https://docs.moodiri.com/getting-started/onboarding-walkthrough): Work through the guided setup: your profile, business details, markup, Stripe, fees and first defaults.
3. [Connect Stripe payouts](https://docs.moodiri.com/settings/connect-stripe-payouts): Connect Stripe so clients can pay invoices online and payouts reach your bank.
4. [Branding](https://docs.moodiri.com/settings/branding): Add your logo and brand color so the portal and client emails look like your studio.
5. [Your portal address](https://docs.moodiri.com/client-portal/your-portal-address): Choose the web address your clients use to reach their portal.
6. [Invoicing](https://docs.moodiri.com/settings/invoicing): Set your default markup, payment fees and sales tax before the first invoice goes out.
7. [Invite people](https://docs.moodiri.com/settings/invite-people): Invite the teammates who will work in Moodiri with you.
8. [Set roles and admin permissions](https://docs.moodiri.com/settings/set-roles-and-admin-permissions): Give each teammate a role and only the admin permissions they need.

## Good to know

- Only the owner can change roles and admin permissions.
- Each pending invitation holds a seat. Invite teammates when they're ready to join, and revoke invitations nobody will accept.
- You can come back to branding, your portal address and invoicing defaults at any time.
