# Bill the client for approved products and get paid

> Move approved products onto an invoice, send it, and collect payment online or record a check.

## Why this matters

Billing for products by hand means retyping prices and hoping nothing was missed. Building the invoice from the project's approved products keeps the prices consistent with what your client agreed to, and online payment gets you paid without waiting on the post.

## The steps

1. [Before you start: connect Stripe](https://docs.moodiri.com/invoices/connect-stripe-before-invoicing): Connect Stripe first; without it you can't build an invoice.
2. [Add project products to an invoice](https://docs.moodiri.com/invoices/add-project-products-to-an-invoice): Pull the project's products onto the invoice, grouped by room, vendor or category.
3. [Send an invoice](https://docs.moodiri.com/invoices/send-an-invoice): Send the invoice to your client by email.
4. [Pay an invoice](https://docs.moodiri.com/for-clients/pay-an-invoice): Your client pays online by card, US bank account or Apple Pay.
5. [Record a manual payment](https://docs.moodiri.com/invoices/record-a-manual-payment): Record a check, wire or other payment made outside Moodiri.
6. [Send a receipt or the paid invoice](https://docs.moodiri.com/invoices/send-a-payment-receipt): Send your client a receipt or the paid invoice for their records.
7. [Send a reminder or resend an invoice](https://docs.moodiri.com/invoices/send-an-invoice-reminder): Nudge your client when an invoice is still unpaid.

## Good to know

- Bank payments take a few business days to settle; the invoice shows **Payment processing** to your client until then.
- Clients see their invoices and can download PDFs in the portal, see [Invoices and paying](https://docs.moodiri.com/for-clients/invoices-and-paying).
