# Answer a space brief

> Answer your designer's questions about one room, at your own pace. Your answers save as you go and reach your designer when you submit.

## Why use it

Your designer needs to know how you live in a room before they design it: who
uses it, what you love, what has to stay. A brief asks those questions one at a
time, so you can answer when it suits you instead of on a long call, and your
designer has your answers in writing.

## When to use it

- **At the start of a room.** Before your designer proposes ideas for a space.
- **When your designer asks.** A card on **Spaces** shows which rooms are waiting
  for a brief.

## Before you start

- You're signed in to your portal.
- Your designer has attached a brief to the room. Rooms with a brief waiting are
  listed on the **Spaces** page.

## Steps

1. In **Spaces**, find the room under **Your designer needs a brief from you** and choose **Start** (or **Continue** if you've begun).
2. Answer the question shown. It may ask you to pick one or more choices, type an answer, enter a number, pick a date or upload a file.
3. Choose **Continue** to save your answer and move on. Use **Back** to revisit a question, or **Skip** for questions that aren't required.
4. On the last question, choose **Submit**.

## What happens next

- Your designer sees your answers as soon as you submit.
- The room drops off the **Your designer needs a brief from you** card.
- Opening the brief again shows **Brief submitted** with **Back to spaces**.

## Limits

- Required questions can't be skipped; **Skip** stays unavailable until you answer.
- Each answer is saved when you choose **Continue**.
- Once submitted, a brief can't be changed from the portal. Message your designer to change an answer.

## Troubleshooting

- **This question is required.** Answer the question before choosing **Continue**.
- **Couldn't save your answer.** Check your connection and choose **Continue**
  again.

## Questions

### Can I stop halfway and come back later?

Yes. Each answer saves when you choose **Continue**. Come back to **Spaces** and choose **Continue** next to the room to pick up where you left off.

### I made a mistake after submitting. Can I change it?

A submitted brief can't be edited from the portal. Message your designer in [chat](https://docs.moodiri.com/for-clients/chat-with-your-designer) with the correction.

### Why are some questions different from what my partner saw?

Briefs can skip questions based on earlier answers, so the questions you see depend on what you've chosen.
